Day 43

A fairly average day in the city. A visit to the Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, which was surprisingly good considering that I don’t generally like modern art. There was a special string based collection of art, some of which I actually liked, such as one piece that was a series of feathers hanging on strings from the ceiling. The day ended with a picnic dinner in the Perth Botanical Gardens, where I went to watch Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Sometimes I even knew what was going on.

Day 39

Went to the Scitech centre and Planetarium, and was disappointed again that everything was geared towards children, and the planetarium was all about aviation rather than space. Then went to Subiaco for a while, which is a suburb a little way from the city centre, and back in the evening for some live music in the streets for New Years Eve.

Day 34

Flew to Perth.
Forgot about Boxing Day sales.
Went to get some food shopping.
Returned to hostel as soon as possible to hide from the crowds.
